Here at Paws Awhile Canine Camp, our K-9 Counselors have over 40 years of professional law enforcement and private sector canine training experience. Our training foundation is built on a proven, positive, and reliable philosophy. Our mission is to give your dog a solid understanding of training, so your dog can live a happy and cohesive life as part of the family.

Owner Angela Brotherton has twenty five years of experience in the canine training field. She has selected and trained dogs for law enforcement and for pet owners. Angela also competes in K-9 Nose Work with her Goldendoodle, Gable, and her German Shepherd, Risk. Her experience with problem solving and with behavioral and environmental issues has helped many owners and dogs find real resolutions.

Angela has been a guest instructor at many seminars and workshops sponsored by NNDDA and NAPWDA, and she is a judge for NACSW. She is a certified detector instructor and an explosive canine handler. Her work has taken her to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Dallas, providing explosive K-9 screening for major corporations.

Having a relationship with a dog requires understanding how to communicate the desired task in a way that produces positive results. Training obedience with a positive reinforcement method is a fun and enjoyable experience for both dog and owner.
